G3 splitboarder athlete Joey Vosburgh checked in with a pretty cool trip report and photos from North Fidelity and Corbins, BC, Canada...
Stability was in and so was our group. In for another epic day of linking a couple peaks and skiing an amazing south face. The true objective was to ski the south face of Corbins. However the lay out of the south face made it so touring up under its massive slope was foolish. Going up and getting a run off North Fidelity's summit allowed us to stay away from the trap at valley bottom and gave us a fantastic run.
The run led us into position to summit Corbins via the west face. A face often seen from the Trans Canada while heading east to the Pass, it looks open and kinda relaxed. Well, it was open but not relaxed at all! The bootpack led us up 2000' and tilted back to a cool 45 for most of the climb.
The summit was calm and clear, where we soaked up a few rays and began our descent. Greg Hill and Mark Hartley took the eastern spine/dogleg while Christina Lusti and I took the central spine/face. A few small ski cuts produced results. We managed the 20 cm winslab and skied to valley bottom.
Another beauty day in the mountains.
